  1. hello everyone :) I had posted on the old site, my job. my job consists in treating metal parts in a heat treatment + quenching furnace and in a tempering furnace. I work for nuclear / military / aviation and sometimes for formula 1 / rally ... all the pieces I do have a minimum 40-year follow-up, so my name too ... I will take some photos of what I have the right to photograph, to give you an overview of my work. my furnaces can handle small parts up to 6 meters by 1.50 meters. From next week I am starting a qualification in NDT Non Destructive Control (magnetoscopy and ultrasound), so I will be absent for the whole week, maybe a little more. I will post some pictures of what this profession consists of :)

  5. Centrifuge, Your door busting prosaic posts are quite insightful and entertaining. You really want to work your way into this clan, not? :-) I can only appreciate it! We already had our coming out's in the past, but these posts are sadly lost during a server migration in the past, but I'll recap mine a bit reflecting yours: I am 54 years old, 55 to be in December... I live in Rotterdam, The Netherlands I have a G.E.D. (Good Enough Diploma, Autodidact) And music is a big part of my life too, Listening to it, to be exactly (Old school rocker, Zappa, ACDC, SOAD. Iron Maiden, Dio, Rammstein, Die Antwoord) Nice to see you have made such a career out of it.. I had some ambitions when I was young, wanting to play the guitar and shred the world to pieces, but then electronics and computers crossed my path in the early '80 and that is where I stayed up to now... In the mean time I got married, raised and launched 2 fantastic boys (which both play guitar ;-) ), got divorced, met another woman, lost her again, and am now living life on my own which, unexpectedly, seems to work out quite well... So, I'm also just trying to relax and live a happy, humble life before God calls me home. Stay safe, and I hope that foot heals soon, Bier! P.S. Positive vote from me!

  6. Today, I would like to share you the first preview of Enemy Territory - Remaster Prototype. As I say in the video, almost everything you will see is far from being representative of the visual quality you can expect for the final release. So far, everything as been made to test the game functioning in "real conditions", on a real playable map, and not for being visually impressive (not yet). I wanted to do this preview more as a teaser than as a real gameplay presentation. I'm not taking this project as a joke, I'm spending a lot of time and efforts in it, and I'm really motivated to break the "ET2 curse" by releasing a real playable game, with my vision of what should be a good "ET2", and I hope it will be appreciated by as many ETPlayers as possible. That's it for today, here is the Youtube link, so remember to check the video description, and feel free to share me your opinion about it. (In advance, I'm sorry for the poor video quality, I'm definitely not a good Youtuber)

  7. yes , it's for this i'm warning about vaccine , it's not for all people and im' not anti-vaccine be sure of that ... health problem can be dramatic with this kind of vaccine , in fact ARN seringue was not a vaccine . i think moderna is little less dangerous than the others ( it's my opinion)

  18. I'm ready to tag up. IF accepted, can I customized my tag colors or, does it always have to be all red? I've been in and out lately. Mostly out. I've been managing all of my personal financial affairs while also nursing a badly broken foot. I have also been using a strong medication THAT I DON'T LIKE TO TAKE but, I must for now! That's why I have been totally goofing off on the server lately then, vanishing. I know that can't play well all doped up so, I just goof off and laugh about it. SOUND AND MUSIC REPRODUCTION/MIXING/EDITING!I have been a recording and studio 2nd engineer for most of my life. These days I just do a lot of mixing and editing from home (which I LOVE). Labels I have worked for in the past have included (but were not limited to) Warner Brothers | Island | Capitol | Dream Works | etc. and, some of the names that I've worked with that you may know are: Buddy Guy. Elvis Costello. Counting Crows... I used to follow the Grateful Dead around (1985 > 1995) and record their concerts. That took me to every state in the US (except Alaska), Europe and, Tokyo where I met my girlfriend- Mikosawa (Miko) who just moved back to Japan to care for elderly family members c/o Corona related circumstances!   23. Hi everybody ! Just wanted to let you people know that i'm going on a vacation from 30/09/2021 till 13/10/2021. I will be in the dominican republik. Really need some time off. I don't qualify for the bonus round when it comes to this stuff but it sure is an adventure for me to delve into the world of BIG BOY TOYS/MACHINES especially when you actually meet/participate with people you know who truly do have a handle on those things no matter what they are! That just makes it more fun man. I seem to learn more that way. They are also great sources for information if you have questions. Now... who wants to talk about taking 6 to 10 Chevy Impala steering wheel airbags and setting them all off at the same time while encased within an empty 50 gal drum or, an old washing machine? WOOF! You had better stand back for that one! You big kids should give a that once-go sometime. Okay, okay, maybe I should just stick to metal. Who knows what ideas others may get!

  25. It's clear that metal manufacturing make up a great deal of our industries, and it's always fun to see where it pops up. Like PryD being deeply into heat treatment, who would expected that! The most interesting process I have seen to date was explosion welding. One of our clients uses it to weld copper to steel in an explosion bonding process, and produces jet engine outer casings (the front inlet ring) in an explosion forming process. It's insanely brutal, but quite satisfying to witness. Sometimes it takes me too nice places too. Another of our clients specializes in copper welding, maintaining the conductors that drive a *huge* electric arc furnace. These conductors carry 1000's of amps and are hollow so they can be cooled from within. Seeing such an furnace in action is a quite humbling experience... But again, i'm not there for my knowledge of metals, but being a trained programmer I am usually always involved programming the equipment when WPS's come in play. And when it comes to music, I'm also a big metal fan...! :D

I see exactly what your job is :). so I will add a precision to mine ^^: the quenching furnace is gas (water / polymer and air quenching) and my tempering furnace is electric, sometimes I take care of an annealing furnace which operates under vacuum with nitrogen. so I make different steels: -super alloy for aeronautics. -HSS steel for cutting tools. -aluminum tubes for jet fighters . -and for 2 and a half years, titanium (dentist, surgery, car parts). -and zirconium (very hard to work). Of course everything that is control hardness / pyrometry control / geometry control ...

  30. The company I work for is also in the metal business. We import/export welding wires, rods, ceramics and safety items for the metal processing industry like builders, shipyards, manufacurers, etc... We also offer some annealing equipment for rental, resistance and induction based. It's a very important process for some manufacturing steps, and with the new high-tech base materials it gets even more important so your future is bright! ;-) But do I know anything more about metal? No! I run the IT department there.... Hahaha! And damn! Working for F1! That would look great on my CV too!

  34. Greetings to you. My in-game name is dP: Centrifuge! "dP:!" stands for "Dynamite Planted" which, is one of my old clans. In my past, I had Admin status in and have worn tags for: AE_ (American Elite Sniper Clan) dP:! (Dynamite Planted) TMF (Twisted Minds Foundation) I used to play on a daily basis for years and years. I am starting to get back into it again... slowly. I have a lot of small 'quirks' to smooth out; settings, new things to go out and buy etc. so, until I get that taken care of, here's a little bit of my ET history. WARNING! THIS BORING, HISTORICAL SUMMARY MAY CAUSE SLEEPINESS AND FATIGUE! Obviously (for anyone who spec's me) my class of choice is: Covert Ops. I come from a long line of Wolf ET players who were exclusively snipers. That's all we cared about. We were NOT your typical, traditional snipers. Our old dP:! server 'PUBLIC SNIPE' ran only 1 map: ae_sniper_challenge! That map ran 24/7! The map was created by a guy I know named AE_Northerner. The volume of players grew so large at one point that we simply could not accommodate them all. We were NOT getting rid of the map so, very cleverly, one of our members (a brilliant map maker and friend named YOGI) reconstructed AE_Northerner's 'ae_sniper_challenge' and expanded upon it. It's now called "Shadow_Sniper_Remix" which came complete with three private 1 -vs- 1 sniper chambers that are accessed via a portal door near each spawn. _________________________________________________ BINOC >SCOPE> FIRE and the THE BRIDGE BATTLES! Quake 3 Arena and the Railgun. Anyone who played that game knows that THAT'S the true origins of what would become the Wolf ET sniper. The Railgun in QUAKE 3 Arena and the sniper rifle in Wolf ET are essentially the exact same thing. The settings and styles that we had developed from Quake's Railgun carried over into Wolf ET sniper activity and took on added detentions. Our old PUBLIC SNIPE server was where the evolution of 'ET Speed Snipe' all got started. Speed Snipe (with the binocs >scope> fire method) was what you had to compete against daily. We did not crawl around on the ground and 'roost' in one spot. We were constantly moving around, crossing over while scanning for enemy targets. We even mastered mid air sniper trick shots. That's when you run and/or, stand behind a short wall etc. then, you jump up in the air with your binocs open. While in mid air, you switch VERY QUICKLY from Binocs to Scope > Fire for the kill. That trick takes a lot of practice (double jump helps a lot too) and, you know you are onto something good when you eventually start getting BANNED for it. That's right! Some people watching you from SPEC just can not process the "trick shot" method when they see you do it so, they instantly think you're hacking and ban you. That used to happen a lot. _________________________________________________ World 'Speed Snipe' and, Team Comps. Teams/Clans That Were Active In Daily Practice/Yearly Sniper Comps: TWC Real_Madrid TMF AE_ 1 -vs- 1 Individual Comps (rotations of various 1 -vs- 1 clan comps) Team Scrim Snipe: Full Team Comp's Rotations Against Other Clans [ ALL COMP'S WERE PLAYED ON OUR SERVER RUNNING STREAMING P.B. BANS ] [ ALL MATCHES WERE CAREFULLY WATCHED BY REFS FROM BOTH TEAMS] My clan "dP:!" was #1 and #2 in the world in speed snipe comp. for years. Our final match put REAL_MADRID @ #1 worldwide and dP:! clan fell from #1 to #2. So, my old clan finished at #2 worldwide for sniper comp.     you can start the map typing /rcon map UJE_flat_sniper Map made by [UJE]Niek ----------------------------------------------------------------- Well another map is done. UJE_flat_sniper i named it , this map is made pure for fun. 2 high and i mean super high buildings standing against eachother . Again its a snipermap ,but there's a way to cross again for fun play , you can jump from a 100 stores building and try to land in the water or you can try to jump on de trampoline. The way up or down can be done by a elevator who was made by [UJE]C he has made the elevator in i think an hour hahah. Fine tuning took al littke bit longer , the elevator makes the map i think. I've releashed the map as a beta because it's not completly ready . A few sounds must be added and the fog must be adjusted and some stuff more. But i'm a little tyred of making this map , it took al lot of time longer that it was supose to be. Well the map is good playable and fun. There can be lot's of fun fights on the lowest level hihi. that was my intension . After this beta version its gonne be final but first i got to see how the map is going to be played.
