I'd like to know where to send in money...just don't want it stuck somewhere else. send me a link or a message on how to donate.

Silky posted this info earlier in the thread

Hellreturn has been helping us out greatly with helping figure a way to get the domain transferred and tracking down info.

February site/forum costs are due. If anyone would like to help donate for February costs here's his info:

    Paypal id:  [email protected]

(for feb month - 30$ pls.)

And he also covered January 19th- February 19th server costs. If anyone would like to help repay him , same PayPal info as above. ( which would be January 9th- February 9th with how reliablesite.net payment system is.

I think it was also mentioned that if you donate to Paypal id:  [email protected] that you make a note that the money is for ETS/Kate.

  2. WOW!
I'm floored! So So sad. My heart and thoughts go out to her family. May they find peace and comfort.

As far as the server. I'll donate here in a little bit.

I hope we can come together as a clan and small community to keep the place going!

  3. Hey man!!

Do you still have the old PC and can plug it up and use it simultaneously with the new system? I would just try to get the specs the same on the new one as you had on the old one. You'll have to continue to tweak some until you get it where you want it. Tweaking it is half the fun and your gameplay is just fine. Don't be hard on yourself.

    Have Fun!!!!

  4. Hello
It has been nice seeing a new face on ETS playing this nearly 20-year-old game! Make yourself familiar with the site as things will be changing over the next couple of weeks.

    See ya in game!

  5. I  went over to several of F A's servers (hosted on same network) testing their connectivity and inquiring in chat and reading others' comments and some were mentioning a DDOS attack on the host dediserverhosting.com. Has anyone heard something similar or different?

  6. we were having a little fun jumping off the top of the haunted mansion and we briefly talked about the axis bots that will climb on the roof of the destroyed smaller house and I mentioned that sometimes I have a hard time distinguishing them because of axis dark uniforms and the black and gray color of the roof blending. I look for the muzzle flash. Napo was saying he has no problem seeing them. I guess it's my 50+ year old eyes! After looking at your screenshots my screen is a lot more lighter. I may grab a screenie and post to compare.

  7. I like the map.
Depends on the version though. There are several iterations out there. Didn't care for the crate version. There is a pretty basic version where Axis has to build a barrier just past the fence / gate that gets destroyed by the tank. That's a pretty straightforward map.

On the subject of maps.. There is one of the MLB maps that I was always a fan of I believe it was called DAYBREAK. A pretty big map that I think we could have fun with.

    I'll be waiting... :-)

Real nice it turned out to be a great experience. Almost sorry I did not join you! ;-)
But with my wonky ankles it's probably for the better... Haha!

And about not sightseeing, maybe thats also for the best? Is it a safe country to walk around on your own and not get robbed, taken hostage or whatever?

I'll have to post some vids I took.
It's definitely a 3rd world country, but the people are so warm and happy despite it all.
I think someone, especially a white person can walk around safely for the most part. I'm sure there are bad neighborhoods.

I would feel more comfortable there than L.A. in America.

Since I bought a trekking opportunity / tour it seemed like it was all scripted out because I had to be
at certain places at certain times, etc.. at all times

Looks like it was an amazing adventure!

And I give props to this dude20230829_130629.jpg.69347c904481f764c5c1fd073adc53b0.jpg.c4259783709b57986e4303c5ca0eae89.jpg

I would break my neck carrying that on my head with no hands ! Lol.

The "Porters" are SuperHuman. No other words can describe them. They were going back and forth like it was no big deal. The real champions of this trek.
I did not complain and moan and groan about anything while watching them work.

Wow mate!! That are some seriously beautiful pictures!
Looks like it was well worth all the excercise you had to do upfront!

Good to see you reached the top!
Did it all meet your expectations?
Was it harder or easier as expected?
How was the beer over there?

    Thanks for posting this!

Hey bud! I hope to get some games in this weekend!! shoot with you soon!

It did meet my expectations and more. Probably the most difficult thing I've ever done in my adult life.
A lot harder. I'm used to well-maintained trails on the Blue Ridge and the Appalachian trail on the East Coast of the US.
This was 80% scrambling on and over rock the whole time. I know it's a dormant volcano and expected rock but not the majority
of it. I was super cautious because of old ankle injuries.

I had several Kilimanjaro Lagers at the end to celebrate. They were pretty good. I tried to get a couple to bring home but they were strict about it
and my time there was all planned out so no time to really sightsee and do things on my own.

  11. The age old topic that has plagued this game for 20 some years. What do we do with really REALLY good players? Are they cheating? Or are they really good, are they only concerned about personal stats and not team objectives, have a helluva of a computer setup and have fine tuned their config (cfg) file? I think LC and a few others (Sky, and to a lesser extent massive and cino, and even Mav) fall into the latter category. I think if all things were equal meaning if everyone had the same computer / display setup, cfg, and ping I think things would be a lot different. The only difference would be playing style. I've played here long enough to just about guess with some certainty what certain people are going to do on any given map. Silky brings up an interesting point and KYRBJ has mentioned this to me before - the behavior of the BOTS. I may be crazy! but they have routinely passed me and have assisted one of the "better" players OR these "better" players will only die at the hands of a BOT. It's weird!@!@ I know! Now, I'm not accusing ETS of any maleficence. Just an odd observation. Conversely, I've spec'd enough BOTS to wonder what is this thing doing? Go disarm the dynamite or shoot that other player with the gold or documents don't stand there and look at the ceiling! Then have them run circles around me! when I spawn. Now, I'm not saying I'm some great player, I'm not! I'm some old dude with a computer I built at work that I use at home as a personal PC. Just that the BOT behavior is inconsistent and somehow they favor the better players. But, anyway.. back to the main point. really good players vs. cheating. I think the ones I've mentioned and the one that is the subject of this topic aren't cheaters outright but maybe bend the rules with these finely tuned config scripts and are just aggressive players. I think ETS caters to people that just want to have a little fun, maybe blow off a little stem, and reminisce on a free FPS that they cut their teeth on so many years ago. So... what do we do? Do we ask these people to stop playing here? Do we ask them to strip down their config scripts to match other here? I have not modified anything within ET (script wise) just gaming on a basic computer with a few things turned off (blood for example) in the main menu. Do we ask them to modify their gaming style to match that of us beer swilling weekend keyboard warriors? I mean we're trying to fill up the server not empty out. It is a Catch22. All tough questions.

I think first thing first is everyone ETS, regs, (including the really good players) if they want ETS to survive is to really pay attention to 1. balancing the team numbers. None of this 7 v 2 (real people) Try to even things up as much as possible. and 2. maybe call it stacking not sure what other term to use, but I'm getting at really REALLY good players all on one side against us normal (me included) players on the other and just dominating the game for 15 minutes. I think people need to be more vocal about this and call for a shuffle OR OR if an ETS member asks someone to switch sides that they do it and not complain. A little segue on this - All regs including "elite" players need to adhere to and do what ETS members ask of them. None of this insulting conversations back and forth. FullStop. Back on point - Looking at Kate's conversation with LC, LC kept asking what (he/she) can do to help. I think it would go a LONG way for LC and some of these others to not be individual **** and reach out and willingly switch teams and do these other things to make it enjoyable for all. I think that would go a long way in repairing reputations and may even keep people gaming here. I don't want to see this close up shop.
