This is quite a piece of work indeed! Very trippy indeed, but in an undefinable way.

Brings me back to my mdma days. Would have worked quite well with that too! :-D
Come to think of it. I have some still lying around from 15 years ago. Nice opportunity to check if it's still potent after all that time! :classic_rolleyes:

It's all that you said it was. This one's staying on my playlist!

My brother, my brother! :) Us old vikings never die, we're just more selective about when we put on our 'war paint' :) PEACE !

Youtube doesn't allow me to watch it, it says that the video is not available :/

Hmmm. All that I can think of is that it's a region issue. Maybe ???  Try clicking the direct link and go straight to YouTube for a view. If that fails then, I don't know. I ripped the video to my archives but the file size if too big for posting here. Sorry dude :(

    Damn Centrifuge,
it's like i'm talking to myself,,,

This all agrees with a lot of highpoints I have with Zappa myself, but your Water Melon in Easter Hay remark was quite bizarre... It's recorded in my will that that piece will be played at my funeral. In the right (or wrong) mood, it always brings tears to my eyes, even after 40 years.
(if other readers don't know what i'm talking about check this and see of you are vulnerable... )

And OMG dude... Stevie's Spanking! Are you bloody reading my mind? Hands down one of the best collab solo's of those two! Zappa steamrolling and Steve on stunt guitar! Wow!

It was well known he demanded a lot of his band members. His sometimes bizarre style and focus on precision was not for all musicians but if you survived Zappa, people knew you were good at something... (Ike Willis, Scott Tunis, Bobby Martin, Napoleon Murphy Brock, Ruth and so on and on and on...)

I have every album he ever published (and the slew of bootlegs too) stored safely away. It's been with me all my life, but still sad he had to pass away so early...

Same here! As a youngster I bought Joe's Garage Act I, II and III on a whim, and became a fan right away!

That was my 3rd Zappa album to buy. 1st was Chunga's Revenge (I only liked the song and guitar work on '20 Small Cigars'). 2nd was Tinseltown Rebellion (live cuts from the 81/82 band) and 3rd was Joe's Garage! LOVED IT RIGHT AWAY! THAT'S when I was hooked! I learned how to play the solo from Watermellon in Easter Hay too! Beautiful song.

He was (and still is) very popular over here in Europe. I even been to one of his performances in Rotterdam, 1988. Totally awesome show where the crowd cheered him back on the podium 3 times, like he was never going to quit!! One of my best memories!

LUCKY! HE LOVED PLAYING EUROPE --A LOT! Zappa has/had always been very well received and respected there esp. Prauge in the Czech Republic. I never got to see Frank live but I've been an avid collector of his material for years and years. After seeing what music you're into I want to suggest checking out You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore Vol 5 (DISC 2 ONLY). The guitar solos and the TIGHTNESS of his 82 band was simply astounding! Check out the guitar solo on The Black Page #2 from that CD or, from the same tour/year THIS GUITAR SOLO >>>>> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TEnzdp71U78

ONE MORE --FUN-- SUGGESTION: Anyone who likes Zappa's music should not pass this one by. You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore Vol 2 Helsinki, Finland (ALL of Disc's 1&2). This band IS NOT HUMAN! HOLY COW!!!!! I MEAN, JUST LISTEN TO THOSE GUYS! WOW! By the time you get to disc 2, the tempos are so much faster and they combine selections that are hard rock-ish with also back to back selections that are definitely influenced by Frank's classical compositions.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xVhxh_MBPHw&list=OLAK5uy_k4xOA05K8fm_0YZy3XOKwtEGHlOixgwp8

IF accepted, can I customized my tag colors or, does it always have to be all red?

I've been in and out lately. Mostly out. I've been managing all of my personal financial affairs while also nursing a badly broken foot. I have also been using a strong medication THAT I DON'T LIKE TO TAKE but, I must for now!  That's why I have been totally goofing off on the server lately then, vanishing.  I know that can't play well all doped up so, I just goof off and laugh about it.

I've posted a bio-esc 'Greeting' that covers a good bit of info about me >>>  https://ets-clan.com/index.php?/forums/topic/880-greetings-from-centrifuge/&tab=comments#comment-2589

    Here's a bit more info:

    I am 55 years old.
    I live in Brandon, Mississippi.
I graduated from the University of South Carolina with degrees in Psychology/Economics that I never once used!
My true love is music and sound engineering (studio environments). That has always been my love. SOUND AND MUSIC REPRODUCTION/MIXING/EDITING!I have been a recording and studio 2nd engineer for most of my life. These days I just do a lot of mixing and editing from home (which I LOVE). Labels I have worked for in the past have included (but were not limited to) Warner Brothers | Island | Capitol | Dream Works | etc. and, some of the names that I've worked with that you may know are: Buddy Guy. Elvis Costello. Counting Crows...
I used to follow the Grateful Dead around (1985 > 1995) and record their concerts. That took me to every state in the US (except Alaska), Europe and, Tokyo where I met my girlfriend- Mikosawa (Miko) who just moved back to Japan to care for elderly family members c/o Corona related circumstances!

Anyway, now I am just trying to relax and live a happy, humble life before God calls me home.

    Peace and Hair Grease,

But do I know anything more about metal? No! I run the IT department there.... Hahaha!

Ha ha ! Dude, that's what's up! I don't qualify for the bonus round when it comes to this stuff but it sure is an adventure for me to delve into the world of BIG BOY TOYS/MACHINES especially when you actually meet/participate with people you know who truly do have a handle on those things no matter what they are! That just makes it more fun man. I seem to learn more that way. They are also great sources for information if you have questions.

Now... who wants to talk about taking 6 to 10 Chevy Impala steering wheel airbags and setting them all off at the same time while encased within an empty 50 gal drum or, an old washing machine? WOOF! You had better stand back for that one! You big kids should give a that once-go sometime. Okay, okay, maybe I should just stick to metal. Who knows what ideas others may get!

    hello everyone :)

I had posted on the old site, my job.
my job consists in treating metal parts in a heat treatment + quenching furnace and in a tempering furnace.
I work for nuclear / military / aviation and sometimes for formula 1 / rally ...
all the pieces I do have a minimum 40-year follow-up, so my name too ...

I have friends who (in various applications) smelted and forged. Male and female! That was a great little education just hanging with them and diving into a project from time to time. It's a tricky thing too and I respect the heck out of it! Fun experience!

On the flip side, I also have a friend who runs a big recycling/fabrication corp. That being the case, my friend was able to personally walk me through the whole unrestricted ball of wax. It was a whole new world for me and I will never forget it.

Some of that material would be put through plasma cutter stations that each had pre-loaded specifications for cutting patterns. An easy to recognize example of a typical pattern cut would be the metal cases for your stereo tuner/receiver c/o the ventilation slots. They did that and other type projects. It was really a great thing to see first hand. I'm not too proud to say that the plasma cutters were a lot of fun to watch man! WOW!

THEN, you have the I-beams/sheet/bar-rod metals that could be raw or, simi-treated(?). They had liquid vats for some things but, we never got too close to those for some reason (possible chemical hazard area?).

Then there is what you do: Heat treatment! I have never personally seen that first hand but, I know a tiny little bit about it. You take those various metals, in whatever form/design and, you make them STRONGER through the heat process! I don't know but, common sense dictates to me that, by default, heat treatments on your scale means that you are dealing with LOTS of various grade metals which also means various degrees of molecular compounds & structures that are being heated and cooled. Those structures change with temps so, YOU maintain the proper balance of all of those environments to produce a superior product! Like a conductor of a symphony - you keep all of these individual components in line that ultimately yields something greater than the sum of it's parts. Pretty cool!

Without the heat treatment processes, metals all around the globe would not function properly. It's important.

  11. I've tested the sniper server out and I like the action so far. This may seem a bit forward since I'm new but here's a few very small things that will add enjoyment to that server...
VOTE should be activated for map changes.
Re-spawn time could be dropped to 4 for a faster return to the action.
Beef up the ammo round per player to 200 rounds or so.
    Maps:
Maps with a respectfully closer target proximity are the best.
Sniper maps that have too much distance and separation between targets creates a "floater" scope lag that's darn near impossible to be fast and consistently accurate with. Let me be more clear. If you're on a common objective map like Gold Rush and you activate your scope, point at a target and just watch it. You will see the center slowly float left, right, left, etc. When you combine that default game feature with big UJE sniper maps and targets that are wayyyy off in the distance, you begin to encounter something like a digital mirage that's just impossible to deal with for too long.
Smaller sniper maps make for better game play action.
I tried to upload sniper map pk3 files for you (regular file version then, zipfile - all under 48 MB) but none would upload.            Anyway, here are map names that have great action and are not too big. See what you think >>>

    sniper_shadow_remix.pk3
    HK_sniper_b1.pk3
    UJE_flat_sniper_2020.pk3
    twc_sniper.pk3

  12.

    Greetings to you.

My in-game name is dP: Centrifuge!
"dP:!" stands for "Dynamite Planted" which, is one of my old clans.

In my past, I had Admin status in and have worn tags for:
    AE_ (American Elite Sniper Clan)
    dP:! (Dynamite Planted)
    TMF (Twisted Minds Foundation)

I used to play on a daily basis for years and years. I am starting to get back into it again... slowly.

I have a lot of small 'quirks' to smooth out; settings, new things to go out and buy etc. so, until I get that taken care of, here's a little bit of my ET history.

    WARNING!

THIS BORING, HISTORICAL SUMMARY MAY CAUSE SLEEPINESS AND FATIGUE!

Obviously (for anyone who spec's me) my class of choice is: Covert Ops.

I come from a long line of Wolf ET players who were exclusively snipers. That's all we cared about. We were NOT your typical, traditional snipers.
Our old dP:! server 'PUBLIC SNIPE' ran only 1 map: ae_sniper_challenge! That map ran 24/7! The map was created by a guy I know named AE_Northerner.

The volume of players grew so large at one point that we simply could not accommodate them all. We were NOT getting rid of the map so, very cleverly, one of our members (a brilliant map maker and friend named YOGI) reconstructed AE_Northerner's 'ae_sniper_challenge' and expanded upon it. It's now called "Shadow_Sniper_Remix" which came complete with three private 1 -vs- 1 sniper chambers that are accessed via a portal door near each spawn.

    _________________________________________________

BINOC >SCOPE> FIRE and the THE BRIDGE BATTLES!
Quake 3 Arena and the Railgun. Anyone who played that game knows that THAT'S the true origins of what would become the Wolf ET sniper. The Railgun in QUAKE 3 Arena and the sniper rifle in Wolf ET are essentially the exact same thing. The settings and styles that we had developed from Quake's Railgun carried over into Wolf ET sniper activity and took on added detentions.
Our old PUBLIC SNIPE server was where the evolution of 'ET  Speed Snipe' all got started. Speed Snipe (with the binocs >scope> fire method) was what you had to compete against daily. We did not crawl around on the ground and 'roost' in one spot. We were constantly moving around, crossing over while scanning for enemy targets.

We even mastered mid air sniper trick shots. That's when you run and/or, stand behind a short wall etc. then, you jump up in the air with your binocs open. While in mid air, you switch VERY QUICKLY from Binocs to  Scope > Fire for the kill. That trick takes a lot of practice (double jump helps a lot too) and, you know you are onto something good when you eventually start getting BANNED for it.
That's right! Some people watching you from SPEC just can not process the "trick shot" method when they see you do it so, they instantly think you're hacking and ban you. That used to happen a lot.

1 -vs- 1 Individual Comps (rotations of various 1 -vs- 1 clan comps)
Team Scrim Snipe:  Full Team Comp's Rotations Against Other Clans
[ ALL COMP'S WERE PLAYED ON OUR SERVER RUNNING STREAMING P.B. BANS ]
[ ALL MATCHES WERE CAREFULLY WATCHED BY REFS FROM BOTH TEAMS]
My clan "dP:!" was #1 and #2 in the world in speed snipe comp. for years. Our final match put REAL_MADRID @ #1 worldwide and dP:! clan fell from #1 to #2.

So, my old clan finished at #2 worldwide for sniper comp.
Not a bad way to go.

That's enough about my boring ET history for now.

    Thanks for having me.
